Established 2023
The Woman Portrait Gallery is an ongoing exhibition series that has been hosted annually at Kaffeemitte since 2023. The artworks and the individuals involved explore different ways in which women can be portrayed. Analogue photography, painting, illustration, collage, and prints come together as part of a collective body of work — a contemporary collection of women's portraits, bringing together artists from different backgrounds, generations, and disciplines.
In 2026, we are happy to present our fourth edition. We invite you to come by and experience the exhibition.
Many thanks to all artists who have supported the project since 2023 — and to Kaffeemitte for hosting our shows.

About
The quote “Alles Künstlerische ist Künftiges” / “All art is prospective” by product designer Karl Clauss Dietel refers to what is often described as the artist's role as a kind of seismograph — a special sensitivity shaped through artistic creation. When one is wondering where a certain social development might be heading, it is interesting to look at artists and their work.
The interpretation of what a contemporary portrait of a woman should look like is in a constant state of flux. Panta rhei. Like a little timestamp, this exhibition series brings together contemporary works by artists whose gender — unlike the motif itself — was not asked for.
